Seed To Sky / International School Hanoi
This school is planned in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, and is an international school where children from kindergarten to high school can study together and prepare to spread their wings to the world of university and beyond.
The entire building is a borderless space so that students of various nationalities can cross-borders of education in a natural environment that transcends age boundaries.
The 4-layers of floor plate have no corridors, it is a new land where children can freely walk around. The atria that open toward the sky from the ground to the rooftop are a flow of openings that connect spaces in the vertical dimension, and form courtyards that bring nature into the building. The area around the atria is in contact with the outside air, providing an intermediate space between the inside and outside. They protect from rain and strong sunlight and are used as a place for children to relax and experience a variety of lesson types.
The outer wall is made of a porous aluminum die-cast screen that imitates the morphology of plant tissue and is expected to have the effect of lowering the temperature around the outer wall by transpiration. In addition, we are trying to reduce the energy load by adopting a passive cooling design that reduces the air conditioning load by allowing the outside air to escape to the sky through the atria and encourages natural ventilation in the internal space.
I hope that the children, who are like seeds with great potential, will mature through their diverse interactions with nature and other people and will grow up and out of this school towards the sky.
